8A. Awards

The most Interesting part of class: The most interesting part of this class award would have to go to doing my first book roundup. I made the Marley and me game and it was interesting to me, because hands on activities are fun for me.

The mot boring/useless part of class: The most boring part of this class was/ useless award is split up into two. The most boring part award goes to reading the Crucible, its not a boring or difficult reading it just doesn’t keep my attention. The most useless award goes to working on the audio books. We got like 3 chapters done, and never turned it in.

Hardest I laughed: There are so many times that I have laughed so hard in this class. There is not one thing to be giving an award to. No one ever takes anything to heart in the class so no matter what is said it is funny.

The thing I learned that will be most useful in my future: This award would have to go to learning speeches. We took so much time on speeches. Everyone was mad about them at the time and hated to do them and take the time to write them out and practice them, but looking back on them it was a really good lesson. There were so many different things I learned for when I need to give a speech and looking back on it I’m glad I took the time to do it.

Best thing about Brigs as a teacher: The best thing about have Brigs for a teacher is that he has a sense of humor. How he just stops in the middle of a lecture and says the most random thing that popped into his head. How he can rarely be serious about anything and he just makes the class better then just reading and writing the whole time.

Thing Brigs could do for the class to make it better in the future: We wasted a lot of time on the audio books, so maybe in the future just do one or two chapters.

7A: Decisions Decisions

The easiest decision that I have had to make was whether or not to go to AVC. At that time I was deciding that I wanted to do cosmetology as a future job. Then we had the fieldtrip to go to the Career Center and learn all about the different careers. That day was when I said I was going to do cosmetology for AVC and I am glad I did it. I am still going to do it next year. The hardest decision I have had to make was deciding now whether or not I still want to do cosmetology and my main job. I also would like to go to school for social working. I’m still undecided. I know I want to get my license but I don’t know if I want to have that as my main job.

6A childhood crush

Okay, everyone has their childhood Celebrities. Mine was the guy from Blues Clues, Steve. He was my favorite. I didn’t have a picture of him but I watched Blues Clues everyday. I thought Steve was so smart when he figured out all of the clues. Honestly I watched that show until I was at least 9. By the time I was nine I wasn’t really interested in the show I would just watch the theme song and then turn it off. I completely lost interest in the show when Steve switched out his character with his cousin Joe. My other childhood crush was William Baldwin Also known as Brian McCaffrey from the movie Backdraft. Backdraft was oddly my favorite childhood movie, and Brian was my favorite. I watched that movie at least three times a week. He was my hero and I was proud of him saving people.

5A English teacher

If I were to be teaching English three I would have to make the class fun. The homework that I pass out would be fun and related to English. Because there are so many students that don’t like to read I would just have them read one book that I chose out. For the in class assignments I would make them hands on somehow to keep the students attention. I would grade homework on completion and then go over the answers in class, because homework should just be a practice and if someone doesn’t want to take it seriously then that is their own fault. If I was showing films I would make sure it was on a topic that that could keep the students attention and I would give them a worksheet to fill out to keep them paying attention. If I realize that the class as a whole is doing well, I would take a day and teach something simple outside if it is a nice day. As far as speeches go I would not make them memorize them and present them I would allow them to have note cards. My class would be the class that the students didn’t mind coming to because compared to their other classes English three would be fun.
